Prasavaraksha care, and how to compare it
Prasavaraksha is the traditional Kerala approach to the weeks after childbirth: a structured routine of oil massage, herbal baths, binding and a specific diet. What any given centre actually offers under that name varies widely — this is how to find out what you would be getting.

What the word covers
In Kerala, Prasavaraksha usually refers to a routine over the 40 or so days after delivery. The elements most centres name are daily warm oil massage (Abhyangam), herbal steam or medicated bathing (Vedhu), abdominal binding (Vayaru Kettal or Vethukula), herbal bath decoctions such as Kusuma water, and a distinct postpartum diet built around warm, easily digested preparations.
None of that is standardised. Two centres a few kilometres apart can both advertise Prasavaraksha and run quite different routines, with different practitioners and different starting points after a surgical delivery.
Where medical guidance comes first
After a Caesarean section, oil massage and steam bathing are held back until the obstetrician confirms the incision has healed. A centre that starts them on a fixed day regardless is following a calendar rather than your recovery. Ask when treatments begin and who makes that call.
